3212, was introduced by Rep. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.) after political
maneuvering by Senate Republicans resulted in the removal of a
legislative provision that would have provided Transportation
Security Administration employeese collective bargaining rights.

Make Health Care More Affordable for Federal
Employees and Retirees
Legislation has been introduced this Congress that would ease
the burden of health insurance costs on federal employees and
retirees:
• Reps. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Frank Wolf (R-Va.) introduced
H.R. 1256, a bipartisan bill to increase the federal government’s
share of health benefit premiums for employees and retirees from
the current average of 72 percent to an average of 80 percent.

• Legislation has been introduced in the House and Senate
that would allow federal and military retirees to use pre-tax
dollars to pay for health insurance premiums, as active federal
workers already do. Support

Help Raise the FEHBP Coverage Age forYoung Adults
Voice your support for legislation that would boost the maximum age to qualify
for dependent coverage under the government’s health benefits program
to age 25 from 22. Support

Extend Paid Parental Leave to Federal Employees
Support the Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act, legislation introduced
by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) which would provide paid parental leave under
the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Federal employees currently have
access to 12 weeks of unpaid leave through FMLA. Support
